# Common questions

### What is Gentle Space?

Gentle Space is a support space for parents and aspiring parents. It publishes research-based articles, offers a moderated peer community, and signposts professional and crisis support where needed.

### Is Gentle Space medical advice?

No. Gentle Space is editorial and peer support, not a clinical service. If you are worried about your mental health, your baby, or your safety, speak to your GP, midwife, health visitor, NHS 111, or emergency services.

### Who is the site for?

Gentle Space is open to all parents and aspiring parents. Whether you are trying to conceive, pregnant, or in the thick of life with a baby and beyond, you are welcome here. We want everyone to feel they belong, especially anyone feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, or not quite like themselves.

### Do I need an account to read the community?

You can read the articles freely. To read and take part in the community, you sign up for a free account and agree to the community guidelines first.

### How is my privacy protected?

You choose a display name rather than posting under your real name, and the community is moderated. You can read our full Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
