Medical Disclaimer
Last updated: 21 April 2026
Gentle Space offers warm, evidence-informed information for parents. We are not a medical service. Nothing on this site is a substitute for care from a qualified professional who knows you.
If things feel urgent
If you are in acute crisis, please contact one of the free, confidential lines listed at the top of every page: Samaritans (116 123), PANDAS Foundation (0808 1961 776), or CALM (0800 58 58 58). In a medical emergency, call 999 or go to A&E.
If you are worried about yourself or your baby, speak to your GP, health visitor, or midwife. The NHS 111 service is available 24/7 on the phone or at 111.nhs.uk.
How our articles are written
Each article is written against published guidance (NHS, NICE, peer-reviewed research) and reviewed editorially before publication. We are building a panel of clinicians to review articles that touch on clinical territory (for example, postnatal depression, intrusive thoughts); where that review has happened, the clinician is credited on the article.
Even a well-sourced article cannot replace a conversation with someone who knows your medical history. Use our content as a starting point, not a final answer.
Forum content
The forum is peer-to-peer. Members are not verified medical professionals. Advice shared there reflects personal experience. Take it in that spirit, especially for anything involving your baby's health.
No clinical relationship
Reading articles on Gentle Space, subscribing to the newsletter, or posting in the forum does not create a clinical relationship between you and anyone at Gentle Space. We cannot diagnose, prescribe, or treat.
Links to other sites
We link to external charities, NHS resources, and other reputable sources where helpful. We are not responsible for the content on those sites.
