Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 April 2026
Welcome. These terms set out the agreement between you and Gentle Space when you use this website. By using the site, you agree to them.
We have written them to be plain and fair. If anything is unclear, email clare@gentlespace.net.
What Gentle Space is
Gentle Space is a UK-based support platform for parents. We publish articles and host a community forum. We are not a clinical service and we are not a crisis line. If you are in crisis, please see our crisis signposting. The numbers are at the top of every page.
Creating an account
- You must be 16 or over to create an account.
- You may only create one account per person.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe.
- Pick a display name that you are comfortable with other members seeing.
Forum rules
The forum is moderated to keep it safe. Detailed rules live in our Community Guidelines. In short:
- Be kind. The people posting are going through something hard.
- No medical or legal advice passed off as professional. We are peers, not clinicians.
- Post content that is yours to share. Do not post private conversations, images of others, or confidential information.
- No spam, promotion, or harvesting of members for external services.
We can remove posts, edit posts (original preserved in our moderation log), or suspend accounts that break the rules. Severe or repeated breaches can lead to a permanent ban.
Content ownership
- Articles, illustrations, and editorial content on Gentle Space are ours (or licensed from contributors). You may quote short passages with attribution and a link back.
- Posts you make in the forum remain yours. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, moderate, and retain them as part of the community record.
Things we cannot promise
We work hard to keep the site available and the information accurate, but we provide it "as is". We do not guarantee specific outcomes, and nothing on Gentle Space is a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice. See our Medical Disclaimer.
Changes to the service
We may change features, content, or pricing over time. Material changes that affect your rights will be notified by email where we hold one.
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time in your profile settings. We can close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or if the law requires it.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
